At the southern tip of the Presqu’île, where the Rhône and Saône rivers meet, lies an ambitious European urban revival project: La Confluence. Embodying the renewal of this former port and industrial district since 2014, the Confluence Museum houses the collections of Lyon’s Guimet Museum of Natural History within a futuristic building.
Encouraging the “confluence of knowledge,” the museum brings to life its technological and natural history collections, as well as works from all over the globe, through impressive scenography and numerous partnerships with key players from the world of performance and culture.
Not far away, the Confluence shopping and entertainment center houses about a hundred stores, restaurants and cinema screens near the vaporetto pier, which allows visitors to reach Place Bellecour by boat.
